Exotic Pet Laws: Hedgehogs are illegal to own in 2 cities in all of Canada - Langley B.C. and Windsor Ontario. It is unknown why this rule applies to only these two cities but If you reside in Windsor and want to purchase a hedgie from me, you will be asked to sign a form stating that you are aware of hedgehogs being illegal in Windsor Ontario and that you take all and any responsibility once you leave the premesis with your new pet. I also ask that if you are from Windsor, that you pick-up your hedgie from me as I will not deliver to you in Windsor.
Policy: I only sell hedgehogs to individuals over the age of 18. If you are younger then the age f 18, then it is important you bring your guardian at the time of purchase and pick-up. I may ask to see I.D. if you look under age and are alone. I will only sell one hedgehog per family as they prefer solitude, unless otherwise arranged with approved breeders only. Anyone interested in buying a hedgehog from me is required to please fill out the application form found on the Waiting List page. No hoglet will be rehomed until 7 weeks of age.
Prices: Platinum/Dark Eyed White - very rare (99.9% white quills and black eyes and nose) $180 Albino - unique ( all white, pink eyes and nose) $150 All other colours and patterns - $160 Adults - 12 months to 2 years old (any colour or pattern) $100
Health Guarantee: I guarantee that all my hedgehogs are free from any health problems. All hoglets are guaranteed to be free from congenital problems until age 6 months. If a hedgehog dies before the age of 6 months, I will replace the hedgehog with the next available hedgehog at no charge if given a necropsy report from a licensed veterinarian specializing in exotic animals stating the nature of the problem was due to heredity or present at birth.
Hedgehogs over the age of 6 months do not carry a long-term health guarantee. They will be guaranteed to be free of any communicable diseases at the time they leave our premises. These guarantees do not include accident, negligence or any treatable or communicable illness.
Refunds: I encourage you to think before you decide to purchase a hedgehog. I do not offer refunds. If you are not sure if a hedgehog is a suitable pet for you and your family, please contact me. No monetary refunds will be given if you decide you no longer want or can keep your pet and due to quarantine issues and for the safety of my hedgies residing here, once you leave the premisis with your new pet, I will not take any hedgehogs back and it will up to you to find it a more suitable home if you no longer wish or are unable to keep him/her.
I will not under any circumstance or condition pay for any medical expenses, veterinary bills or any other associated charges.
Payment Methods: I only accept cash, money orders or email money transfers. Payment will be made in full before or at time of pick-up or delivery. No Hedgehog will leave my care without full payment.
Deposits: A $20 non-refundable deposit is advised to reserve and hold a hedgehog of your choice when available until pick-up day. The deposit will go towards the final balance of your hedgehog apon pick-up. If your situation changes and you no longer want a hedgehog from the litter you gave a deposit for, I will apply your deposit to another litter for another hedgie of your choice. You will not get your deposit back.
You do not have to give a deposit, but failure to give a deposit will not guarantee that the hedgehog of your choice will be held for you.
Once hoglets are born, persons on my waiting list which have sent a deposit will have first choice then any remaining babies available will be advertised as such.
Shipping: I do not ship at this time, but I will deliver anywhere in the Essex county area for free. If you live in Windsor, you must pick-up your hedgie from me. I will deliver as far as Tilbury for an extra fee of $15. On occasion (not often) I do make trips to London but only on my schedule.That is an extra $40.
U.S. Customers: I will meet you in Windsor at the border once you cross over from Detroit. I will give you your hedgie and all accessories and paperwork (bith cert. registration #, USDA print-out) and then you cross the border back with your new pet. No papers are needed for hedgehog import into the U.S. but it's nice to have something to show border patrol when they ask what you have to declare. I only accept cash on pick-up day - no U.S. cheques. I do accept US currency.
Remember, a hedgehog is a pet and requires the same care and attention that any other pet or living thing needs and deserves.
Be responsible, do your reserach on hedgies before you buy one so that you and your new pet can enjoy years to come of companionship.
